My name is Andy, and I'm a clinical hypnotherapist. I help people in midlife overcome issues relating to anxiety, depression, fears, IBS, chronic pain and confidence issues.
Hypnotherapy is safe, gentle and effective. It uses well researched therapeutic approaches to help you achieve lasting change, to be able to live the life you want.
One amazing thing about hypnotherapy is that it can be done online from your own home. So I can help you even if you live in another town, or even another country.

I have lots of real-life experience
As a senior leader I spent 30 years managing and developing people in large organisations across several countries. As a therapist I have worked with clients from all walks of life, helping them to achieve change. As a person who has gone through midlife and experienced anxiety myself, I can understand and empathise with the issues that bring my clients to me.
I am well trained and qualified
In total I have undertaken over 600 hours of training. I am fully qualified holding a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD).
I work to the highest expected standards
I'm Fully insured, DBS checked and an accredited member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), I abide by their code of conduct and ethics.

In midlife, a loss of confidence often shows up as sudden self-doubt.
A frustrating shift where you start questioning your abilities, overthinking decisions, and feeling like an impostor in your own life.
A fear or phobia can feel scary and frustrating. A sudden, intense spike of panic that completely overrides your logic and starts forcing you to avoid everyday situations like driving and flying.
In midlife fears can appear from nowhere. Stopping you doing things that used to be easy.
In midlife, chronic pain often feels like a constant drain on your energy.
A constant nagging that disrupts your sleep, impacts your mood, and limits the things you can do.
In midlife, IBS often feels like an unpredictable barrier to your freedom.
A frustrating cycle of physical discomfort and digestive stress that forces you to constantly plan your day around your symptoms.

It's a modern therapy that combines elements of well-proven talking therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) with hypnosis to help you make lasting, positive change.
It's based on the latest neuroscience research and is developing all the time as science uncovers new and amazing things about how our brain works.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy differs from traditional counselling in that we never talk about the past.
Instead, we focus on the future and the positive things in life, even if they seem small. We also talk about small changes that can lead to big improvements.

Trance, the name we use for the state of hypnosis is a normal, everyday state of mind that we all go in and out of, all of the time.
You will have experienced it yourself, perhaps on a familiar car journey where you arrive not remembering the trip.
Or maybe that hour that passes before you knew it while on social media. These are both examples of being in a light trance.
It's a very relaxed state of mind where the attention becomes very focused on area's that you want to change and create solutions.
You don't speak while in trance, you are always conscious and aware and fully in control.
It's very safe and really helps to support the talking therapy part of the process.

The work that we do together can be done online. This means that if you prefer, you can take part from the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you.
However, if you would prefer to work face-to-face, then I have an office space that is designed to be calm and welcoming to help you relax.
